ThermoKeeper Chilled WineShipperis a temperature-control shipping carton that is made with environmentally preferable insulated padding and materials. The two part special padded insulation liner has an inner and outer surface that is perforated to allow for the absorption of unwanted condensation or accidental spills. This special poly contains an additive that promotes biodegradation in greater than one year as tested by ASTM 5511.
Sandwiched between the poly films and sealed on all sides is a proprietary, biodegradable cotton insulation pad made from recycled, purified, flocked textiles which are super-absorbent (for the absorption of accidental spills). The flexible cushioning cotton insulation padding also contains a special antimicrobial that helps to prevent cross-contamination and is programmed to expire after a desired length of time to allow an eventual degradation of the Wine Shipper. ThermoPod’s patented enhanced cotton insulation will completely biodegrade in less than one year and meets the current FTC Green Guidelines as tested by ASTM D-6400.
Test Results:
- 48 Hour Duration Test / 2.66 lbs. Refrigerant / Maximum ambient temperature = 112.4oF Result: Wine temp. remained under 70oF enduring 20+ hours of external ambient temperatures of over 110 degrees F
- 24 Hour Duration Test / 1.5 lbs. Refrigerant / Maximum ambient temperature = 149.3 degrees F. Result: Wine temp. remained under 80 degrees F withstanding over 5 hours of extreme ambient temperatures exceeding 140 degrees F
- Durability Test: Lab tested to exceed ISTA-1A drop test for packages weighing 0-21 lbs.
